Cosplay at Dragon*Con

Last weekend saw Atlanta hosting Dragon*Con, one of the countries best fantasy & comic conventions. While your average comic con attracts geeks like me by the busload, it seems that Dragon*Con fairly bristles with hot chicks, as can be seen from the more than 1000 photographs posted over at Cosplay of the costumes on display. Some are amazing - I mean, can you imagine how long it takes to make a full-on Iron Man suit?

UPDATE: (Also, here's The Girls of Comicon 2005 over at iFilm)

A Hole Lotta Trouble

For those of you wondering how big a movie ho I am...I went and saw The Cave ** (out of four).

thecave.jpg

In the interest of full disclosure I can tell you there was very little way a movie like “The Cave” was going to get more than two stars. Maybe two-and-a-half if the filmmakers really put in some extra effort. Three if the heavens were smiling down. It’s not that I’m not some kind of snob or anything; I love a good “Alien” rip-off as much as the next guy. Even “Pitch Black” had its moments. And in all honesty, I have a real weakness for the kind of movie that dares to start with a title card that reads “Cold War Romania – 30 Year Ago” before continuing on to “Carpathian Mountains – Present Day.” So to its credit “The Cave” absolutely had me at “hello”.

Where Are They Now & Did They Get Hot

MainImageWeb.jpg

I was reading DoubleViking about a week ago, and there's a post on Charlotte Church. Remember her, she was this child opera star, or something. And my only thought was...wow, well she grew up, didn't she. So then I started wondering about a bunch of childhood starlets, and if they went the route of Ashley, or if life had thrown them a Mary-Kate curveball.

Before you scroll down, take a guess...Did they get hot, or not?

- The above-mentioned opera singer
- The football loving daughter from Remember The Titans
- Winnie Cooper from The Wonder Years
- The adopted daughter Stephanie from All in the Family
- Rudy Huxtable from The Cosby Show
- Karen Kinsella from Field of Dreams
- MaCauley Culkin's friend Vada from My Girl
- Stephanie Tanner from Full House
- Little Lex Murphy from Jurassic Park
- The youngest sister Claudia from Party of Five

Rest in Peace, Little Buddy

Want to get out ahead here and send our condolences to Bob "Gilligan" Denver's family. His death warrants a Breaking News bar across CNN.com.

Nobody can say Gilligan is Retro-bituary material.

EggStoolWeb.jpgLostWeb.jpg

Magazines get twice as thick in September...so does Top Five.

5) First on the list, a bathmat that looks like a manhole cover.
4) This one's for the kiddies. Play catch and make ice cream at the same time.
3) Ladies and Gentlemen...Sin in Linen.
2) I don't care what you say, a stool made from hundreds of egg cartons is cool.
1) And starting today...the first season of Lost is out on DVD.
