I was looking through Amazon's listings tonight and found a whole slew of upcoming X Box games that I'm just dying to try out, so I thought I'd share a few previews of the juicy looking ones...
The Matrix: Path of Neo - November 15th
Pretty much like the rest of the world, my reactions to the Matrix films, in order of release, were 1.) that was incredible 2). why are they all having an underwear rave? 3). what the HELL was all that about? But inbetween, there was the first Matrix game, Enter The Matrix, which was probably the most entertaining entry in the canon after the first movie. And so I have high hopes for the new game, especially after viewing this trailer, which seems to take all the best action of the last two films and strip out thet mumbo jumbo with the damn Architect or Trainmaster or Bidet-Lieutenant or whatever it was. Looks like you also get to fight that cocky bastard Morpheus, so that's a bonus. Here, swallow THIS pill, why dontcha.
Scooby Doo Unleashed - Sept 12th
When you have young sons as I do, Scooby Doo is pretty much a constant background noise , so I have no doubt we'll be picking this one up. As much as I hate to admit it, both the previous SD games were stupidly addictive for all of us, so I'm actually looking forward to this one quite a bit. And you never know, there might be a hot coffee version where Daphne gets her boobies out.
Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood - October 15th
A follow up to what was simply THE best WWII game I've ever played, this sequel promises to take us even deeper into nazi-held Normandy with the 101st Airboene. There's no other way to describe this game except to say that it's like playing the HBO series Band of Brothers (which is, of course, exactly why the franchise is named the way it is).
The Incredibles 2:Rise of the Underminer - November 11th
I would love to have been a fly on the wall the day the entire post-production crew of Fantastic Four took a break from editing and went to see The Incredibles. “Oh Shitr - aren't WE making this movie?”. Now, thanks to the wonders of consoles, we don't have to wait for Disney to fuck up the sequel to The Incredibles without Pixar, because here is the conclusion to the story that began at the end of the movie - the attack of Underminer! And I get to play Frozone too - sweet! Watch the trailer here.
Bully - November 14th
This is from Rockstar Games, makers of the now infamous GTA with it's hot coffee sex scenes that diverted children everywhere from their parent-sanctioned mindless violence toward a little unsanctioned free love. And if they thought THAT little adventure caused a media stink, I don't think they'll know what hits them when this game comes out. Play as a “troublesome schoolboy” who fights other bullies, gets picked on by teachers, plays pranks on malicious kids, wins or loses the girl, and ultimately learns to navigate the obstacles of the fictitious reform school. You mean to say I can indulge in my ultimate fantasy of going back to school and kicking the shit out of everyone else as opposed to the opposite way around(which is what actually happened)? I am SO there!
