I've been watching the news for about an hour now. Clearly, nobody really knows what's going on in London. Some anchors have been going out on a limb, saying the explosions "appear they could have been coordinated. Allegedly."
If anyone has any info from friends or family in the area, please weigh in and let us know what's going on. And here's hoping those friends and family members are safe and accounted for.

As a Brit abroad, my only comment at this point would be to say that the rest of the world may be surprised at how well the Brits take this in their stride.
Anyone who is my 35 or older will remember this type of incident from the IRA Christmas bombing campaigns that rocked London almost on an annual basis, including once on a double decker bus that ripped apart in a very similar fashion to the one today.
This is not to play down the terrible situation, especially for those who lost loved ones, but most Londoners grew up on bomb scares, suspect packages at tube stations, and the ever imminent threat of an IRA explosion.
Yeah, in watching the news coverage this morning you definitely see what is either "blitz spirit" or just the typical British unflappability. A gentlemen with blood on his face speaking to reporters as if he was being interviewed in a normal man on the street piece. One police officer easily keeping back a calm crowd from venturing into one of the explosion area. No tears, no panic, no yelling, no shouting, no fleeing.
My husband (nixta) has requested that everyone stop texting him 'are you alright?' messages. Apparently, he's fine. He has some definite opinions on the quality of journalism he's seen in the past hours, and has voiced them quite eloquently on his blog, for those who care to read them.
This morning's shining moment of journalism was the complete misunderstanding of what the word "casualties" means. The guy on Fox News was baffled. "We want to thank our friends watching in London, who've alerted us to the fact that over there, 'casualties' means dead OR wounded." It means the same thing here, douchebag.
I sense another T-Shirt is on it's way.....
Douchebag is a vastly underutilized slam. Try calling someone a douchebag at least once a week. It's cathartic.
As I said to you earlier, as a Brit abroad, I still miss being able to use the word "cunt" in the same way I used to. Douchebag, though cathartic, is hardly a replacement.
Ah, it makes me want to pull that stiff upper lip out of the back of the top-left drawer and re-attach it. Lousy for kissing hot chicks, but sure as hell will fend off those bastard Krauts and their kith and kin (and getting you through public school and into Oxbridge).
It has to be said that the Beeb did make a good show of trying to really go the Fox News route, as has been mentioned, but they were sharply brought into line by their interviewees. I wish I could claim more in common with the people that showed so much grit today. I like to think that I'd do the same, but I know I'd just whimper, wee, and spout crap into the nearest mic. I've lived in the US far too long. Oooh, ooh! Take that, Seppos.
[ Disrespect to the deceased and injured is entirely unintentional, but those cunts wot did this don't deserve a moment's recognition ]
