In the news yesterday: Federal prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald urged a judge to send Time reporter Matt Cooper and New York Times reporter Judith Miller to jail if they continue to refuse to reveal the White House source that leaked the identity of CIA officer Valerie Plame. (We know who leaked it though, don't we folks?)
Here's the thing...The identity of Wilson's wife as a CIA officer was first published in a 2003 column by Robert Novak. Matt Cooper wrote a subsequent story naming Plame, and Miller gathered material BUT NEVER WROTE AN ARTICLE.
Why is this guy getting a pass on this??? Is the current administration so arrogant, they don't even try to lie to us anymore? Now, they're just blatantly telling us that if you work for them, you're untouchable. Come on, at least have the courtesy to keep all this crap hidden. We still like to think we make a difference.
I'm not alone in this, in the Huffington Post, Alan Dershowitz poses the same question. And he's like, smart and stuff.
