Peter Greenaway is one of favorite Directors. Along with his regular cinematographer, the late great Sacha Vierny, Greenaway's movies never cease to transfix me with their stunning imagery, and deep, abiding melancholy. From The Draughtsman's Contract, through Drowning by Numbers and The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover, his fascination with symmetry, geometry and color have produced some astonishing visuals, usually accompanied by the music of Michael Nyman.
I'd lost track of Greenaway a bit in the last few years, so it's good to find out that he continues to experiment, this time turning up as a VJ in Amsterdam's VJ temple “11”. It must have been a very interesting experience - pictures can be seen at NohTV, but unfortunately no video.
