Today in WMMNA, a story about a very cool public art project in Seoul, South Korea.
Golden Numbers takes 32 of the actual speakers used in the Korean demilitarized zone to broadcast propoganda (Hard to believe they were removed as recently as 2004). Recordings of numbers, old radio broadcasts and other sounds are mixed in with voices of people on the scene and are all played together in the piece, representing how all people have a role in history in some way.
The red figure in the middle, titled Red Symbol, is Pope John Paul II. I'm guessing this has to do with His role in the fall of the Soviet Union. It would be great to see this in person. maybe it will make it's way to the US at some point.
