“Want to know how many people you've really shagged?”
This is the selling line from Shagster.net, a site that aims to do for casual sex what classmates.com did for school reunions. Sign up today, locate people you shagged once and forgot about, and see how high or low they rated the shag. Plus, see who shagged your shagee, which, they claim, is therefore someone you have also shagged by association.
Has it really come to this? I mean, I'm not saying I have a list memorized or anything, and I'm not sure I actually remember all their names, but I'm pretty sure I could come up with a reasonably accurate shag count if I thought about it for a few minutes. Does that make me some kind of church mouse? Is the rest of the country really so gregarious they need a social network to keep track of their shag count?
All they need to do now is forge a cross-channel partnership with Imaginary Girlfriends to help raise virtual shag counts, and it's a goldmine.
Man, if only I'd thought of this idea for the Contagious Media Showdown.
