Graffiti Archaeology was written up in the Times last week, but wasn't ready for its close up. The flood of traffic left the server too busy each time I tried to take a peak until I moved on. (By the way, let's hope our webmaster anticipated today's influx of Page Sixers.)
But the virtual crowd has now dispersed. The site takes you back in time through photographs, letting you peel away both the graffiti and the years. This would make a good wiki-project for other locations, where people could go back in their own archives and submit pictures of walls, bridges, whatever. Maybe a Page Six reader will see this, get inspired, and take the reins.
