Today in Gothamist there is a story about the Design Trust for Public Space working on a potential redesign of the city's taxis.
I mention this because the image they've posted is by Antenna Design. I had the pleasure of working with Masamichi and Sigi of Antenna Design when I worked on the Haagen-Dazs contemporary art initiative (my client at the time). They designed an interactive neon display which we exhibited at Bloomingdales in their Lexington Avenue windows. It was just about the coolest project I've ever worked on.
You may not have heard of Antenna, but you're actually quite familiar with their work. They're responsible for both the redesigned subway cars of a couple years ago, and the Metrocard machines. Their mission is to make the public's interaction with technology more meaningful and exciting, and they're awesome at it.
Check out their site, and also the Bloomingdales project (the "installation" section). Both are lots of fun.
