Bill Hemmer has left CNN to "pursue other opportunities". So who does CNN replace him with as the co-anchor for "American Morning" with Soledad O'Brien? Someone else named O'Brien. Miles, that is.
Can't wait for the cute banter the whole name thing will generate on air. At least they cancelled Crossfire and moved the cantankerous Jack Cafferty to a time when I'm at work and he can't get my mornings off to a grumpy start.
Via Gawker and some other sources.

How can we argue the "moral" implications of stem cell research if scientists go ahead and find a way to generate embryonic stem cells without using actual embryos? Boo!

In episode one, many questions were left unanswered.
In episode two, a ray of hope.
And now, YesBut brings you the story no other blog will waste time posting...
THE SUCK-UP INTERVIEW

This week's good idea that I wish I had thought of is Monster Engine by an artist named Dave DeVries. He has taken children's drawings and fleshed them out in fully painted images, keeping the child's sense of line and anatomy intact.

Anyone catch the USA channel marathon of a show called The 4400? In a nutshell, 4400 people who have mysteriously vanished over a number of decades suddenly reappear all at once, with super powers and stuff. It's pretty good.
Then again, I'm a sucker for a marathon. String twelve episodes of golden girls together, and there's a 50/50 shot I'm in for the afternoon.

Blogebrity might have fallen to #5 in the Contagious Media Showdown, but it's the only entrant to make it into Time magazine (item above). If I were the guy in charge of verifying stories, I'd turn to Telequitter before getting shitcanned.

Did anyone see 60 Minutes last night? Well I did, and because of this, I witnessed the first true act of altruism I've ever seen in corporate america...EVER.
The gentlemen above is Dr. Peter Rost. He was interviewed by Bob Simon, at length, about why drugs are so expensive in the U.S, and how we can take steps to dramatically reduce costs for the millions of Americans without health care.
Here's the amazing part...HE'S THE CURRENT VP MARKETING FOR PFIZER PHARMACEUTICAL.
You have to read this transcript of the show. You'll read about Dr. Rost speaking to congress on the subject, and Pfizer issuing statements saying he doesn't know what he's talking about. And the segment ends with Mr. Simon asking the doctor how much longer he'll keep his job, and how he'll afford his house. "I don't know" is the short reply.
His oath obviously takes precedence over his paycheck. How fucking amazing is that?
