Abdul...out? Nah.

Anyone watching this Primetime Live "special" on American Idol? Great fodder for a gossip column, but the moral outrage seems a bit much. It's turned out to be an hour-long ad for a crappy album.

Bringing up 7 losers from last year and having them bitch that Corey Clark (above) took the spot they rightfully deserved? Are there people who feel sorry for this bunch? I feel sorry for Emilio. Tough year for the Sheen boys.

My friend Josh, who had some sweet action on Cardinal Ratzinger in the Popestakes ($20 to win $140 -- he got in early), is letting it ride on "Will Paula Abdul make it to this season's finale?" He says yes. I agree.

Aquaman...out.

Yeh, I think Paula's safe, but I'd disagree with you that the moral outrage is overhyped. If the story as told is true (and it seemed to be) then Paula absolutely abused her position of power on that show to influence the outcome against other contestants.

Just another example of how important, rich or famous people somehow think they're above the rules that apply to the rest of us poor working slobs.

I wouldn't be surprised if the producers found out about the two of them, and that's why they bounced him when they did. Sure, he had an arrest pending against him, but then he wouldn't be the first or last to have that particular skeleton in the closet. Somehow both Bo Bice and Scott Savol didn't incurr the same wrath.

Imagine the outrage if Simon had banged, say, Fantasia?

I think Paula will be gone before next season, but Fox hubris will keep her around for the rest of this one.

Imagine the outrage if Randy had banged, say, Anthony Feredrov.... (not that there's anything wrong with that)

"Paula Abdul has lost all credibility."

I heard that on the radio on the way in. That's like saying I've lost any chance to succeed Queen Elizabeth II.

Although there seems to be some truth to the allegations, I thought this was a pretty despicable piece of "journalism" by ABC. They were not exactly breaking the next Watergate here. Obviously they're just trying to take down a show that they can't compete with and Corey is trying to remind people of who he is and that he has an album coming out. And what was with that pathetic interviewer, sitting there like Kenneth Starr asking "So at that point you had sex with her?" or driving around in a car with Corey and pointing "Wait, so that's Paula Abdul's apartment?" I turned it off halfway through.

Clearly not much reporting went into last night's show. Corey Clark delivered the goods, ABC showed the goods, and that was it. YBNBY-TV could have done just as good a job with that report.

Interviewing Corey's parents in some seedy bar was a nice touch.

Better job, probably. I would at least have asked Corey what Paula looked like in the buff...
